The Oldham Youth Voice Family are hosting a series of summit events to address their priority issues and to create a week of youth voice action.
They want to bring more young people together with decision makers to make a positive difference on:
- Protecting the environment
- Putting an end to knife crime
- Tackling mental health
Date: Saturday 8 February, 11am-1pm
Location: Parliament Square, Oldham town centre
An event for young people and adults. They will come together along with special guests to understand how they can contribute to saving the planet. There will be banner making, speeches and stalls topped off with a parade through Oldham town centre.

Date: Tuesday 11 February (morning – primary schools, afternoon – secondary schools)
Location: Queen Elizabeth Hall, Oldham
An event for young people and supporting adults in schools with lots of fun, insightful and engaging activities. Pupils and teachers will work together on what’s working in our schools and colleges around mental health and what the gaps are.

Date: Thursday 13 February, 5-6pm
Location: Council Chamber, Oldham Civic Centre
An event for young people of Oldham to have meaningful dialogue with decision makers about making change in their communities and preventing the possession and use of knives. We’re still sorting out a few logistics for this event but keep your eyes peeled for further information.
The Oldham Youth Voice Family is made up of Oldham Youth Council, Children in Care Council and Barrier Breakers.
